Screen capture, also known as a screenshot, is the process of capturing an image or recording of what is currently being displayed on a computer, smartphone, tablet, or other digital device. Screen recording is the process of capturing a video of what is happening on a computer, smartphone, or other digital device screen. This is typically done using specialized software that records all of the activity on the screen, including mouse clicks and keystrokes. Screen capture and recording is often used for creating video tutorials, training materials, or software demonstrations, as it allows users to record their actions and share them with others. Once the screen capture/recording is complete, the resulting media can be edited, saved, and shared as needed.
